About him
I am a caring, considerate, sensitive, sensual and intelligent (both emotionally and rationally) man. Friends tell me that I'm loyal and supportive, appreciate my wry wit. My independence is important to me though I am happy to share significant time with a woman who, like myself, enjoys travel, and continues to seek further enlightenment and self-awareness. Interests include the theatre- extending to involvement in amateur acting; films and other cultural activities;co-counselling; walking; swimming; yoga; and other moderate activity. I do not indulge in spectator sports, and prefer radio to television. Reading classic books and other literature has become a pleasure, along with improving my knowledge of classical, folk, jazz, and world music in that order. My politics is decidedly left of centre, and the party of choice is now Labour. I'm open to other persuasions albeit not Tory, UKIP or others that are right wing. My Humaneness extends to all animals, and I've recently taken on responsibility for a rescue cat that is somewhat high maintenance. One of my abiding interests is a long-term commitment to co-counselling, mainly now through something called a peer support network. Basically, I'm one of life's optimists in working towards a better world for the sake of my children, grandchildren (x2), & for others less fortunate than me.

Ideally, living close enough where I would not need to drive or travel more than an hour. She would share some of my values, yet be both independent and open to new ideas and vistas. Perhaps a culture vulture, but not a gym bunny. Someone who likes dancing and romancing, sharing good times with laughter and being there when things are not going swimmingly. Loyalty, kindness and other qualities that make up one's innate character. Intelligence in every sense along with a sensual, tactile, loving nature. In short, someone who I can treat as my equal, and who would respectfully treat me as she would like to be loved. Not into power games-playing, manipulation etc. Proximity to where I presently live in Norwich would be a boon because I do not want to enter into another long-distance relationship. I have close family ties in Cambridge and Warwick.
Most important of all, as a non-negotiable, is not wishing to enter into a relationship with someone who actually believes that Tories are worth supporting, locally or nationally. In a positive vein, she would have to be dealing with any emotional baggage as regards her past experiences including family relationships, personal and work-related issues, and the like. Liking quizzes, yoga, meditation or mindfulness, travel by public transport and FUN would be great!
