I enjoy going to the theatre and cinema and watching sport, but doing this alone is nowhere as much fun as sharing the experience. I'm not tall, athletic or good looking but I think I have a witty intelligence and can be an attentive and erudite companion - even if I may be a little uncomfortable in groups. I am a county standard chess player. I enjoy black and white films (Cary Grant, Bette Davis, the Marx Brothers), and theatre (An Inspector Calls) and my favourite authors are Steinbeck, Orwell, Kundera. I steal most of my jokes from 'I'm sorry I haven't a Clue' and I enjoy reading and watching 'WhoDunnits' -- and yes I do watch football and cricket!

I am looking for someone who is interested in sharing their interests in Art and Culture (and stretching mine} without being necessarily 'highbrow' - I struggle with opera and classical ballet. I think the most attractive feature of a woman is her smile and the light in her eyes when she laughs. My vanity craves an appreciative audience and it is important to me that we can share the enjoyment of an evening together - but I am sorry dancing is out! I think we are likely to get on best if your views tend towards the radical/liberal and you will need to know that I am a 'fundamentalist' atheist.
