About him
I have not had an easy life with much hard work and some very hard knocks. But now my life is (almost) carefree. Although I have a flat in London and a home in the country I spend a lot of my time at my holiday home in Normandy where I belong to the local Bridge Club. Naturally I enjoy the food and the wine in France but I am not a drinker and, if I go to a restaurant, one glass is usually enough for me. I am not really a sportsfan but I do like to watch rugby and also snooker on TV. My favourite programs are anything about nature or animals, history and especially politics, having been a local councillor in my sixties. I do not watch any soaps !
The greatest regret of my life has been that although I have two sons neither has produced any grand-children for me to dote on.
About his ideal match
I would like to meet a lady with a happy outgoing disposition. She would have to be quick on the uptake and possess some enthusiasm or, better still, skill in the culinary arts. If she were a bridge-player or willing to learn that would be a plus point. Love of travel might be another source of mutual enjoyment.
A lively mind is a sine qua non. I would hope that our relationship might progress from companionship and mutual respect through friendship eventually to love.
