About her
I feel happy in my skin, am optimistic and for the most part content with my lot. I'm independent but willing to put time and effort into relationships, life has taught me that relationships are what really matter, the rest is 'nice to have'. I'm a realist and believe that open and honest communication is the key to sorting things out and keeping expectations in sync.
I've done a bit of travelling; loved South America, adored India...volunteering on Tibetan refugee settlements was a highlight, and spent time in the Philippines for work. I plan to do more overseas trips and have girlfriends to travel with but it would be good to travel with a nice man for a change. I love living in Australia and plan to explore a lot more of the country, especially when I retire.
At times I enjoy being in my own space, but a special intimate companion to spend time with would round out what really is a comfortable life. I don't need to be 'in love' to give my life meaning and would be happy to start with a caring friendship that can deepen over time. On the other hand I believe in chemistry so if things feel right I'm generally happy to go with the flow. I enjoy discussing serious or topical issues, such as politics or the economy, but am also content chatting about the ordinary things that are part of everyday life.
I like to read anything on geopolitics and when I get time enjoy good crime fiction, but really whatever takes my interest, just finished 'Where the Crawdads Sing' by Delia Evans - great book! Subscribe to Foreign Affairs and enjoy listening to a range of podcasts. On top of my day job I sometimes do a bit of professional editing.
