About her
I think I am quite intelligent and kind. I love to be busy and try to do things to help others. I currently live alone and have a good life but miss sharing everyday things and adventures, holidays, good food and wine, music, theatre and so much more. I have a lot of friends but so miss having a man in my life. I am looking forward to seeing more of the world but would love someone special to share the experience to make it more worthwhile.
I have a lovely son who lives in Surrey and married a very special young lady in June this year. I see them when I can. We spent this Easter in Northumberland when I drove us all 900 miles between Good Friday and Easter Monday
I used to teach maths and held various posts of responsibility in secondary schools. Now retired I have a number of roles in the community. I go to the gym several times a week and try to keep healthy. I enjoy my garden but it only gets my attention when I have time. I love to cook but only when there is someone to cook for.
One of my favourite things is to get on the the train to London and spend a day exploring the city. Recently I have branched out into visiting theatre, cinema and concerts alone but I find that it isn't half as much fun as a shared experience. I also like to be in the countryside or by the sea, smelling the air and listening to the birds. Having someone with me to hold my hand would make it all the more enjoyable.
In the future I would be very happy to slow down a little on my voluntary work to spend more time on leisure activities and home if I found the right person to join me.
My first profile picture was taken last June 2015 on a twin town visit to Oxford. The other, with me well wrapped up, was taken by my son when we visited New York in December.
