About her
I lead a busy life, but it feels like it's missing warmth, companionship, cosiness. I'm looking, at least initially, for a friend; and then see what happens.
I have far too many hobbies! I'm a voracious reader, coffee and red wine devotee. Fascinated by churches and early history in general, although not religious. Trying to grow my own veg but a bit rubbish at it. I can be nerdy about the Bronze Age...
I'm an introvert, who needs time alone to recharge - a couple of hours in the middle of a muddy field usually does it. I also own a share in the village pub, and really enjoy the social side of that - usually from the pouring side of the bar counter. I read anything with print on in preference to watching the box, and I rarely watch films.
My kids are adults, living in Reading; I'm a dog person currently owned by a cat.
I enjoy bright people, especially bright people who enjoy my cooking... I'm looking for someone who makes time for me, but also has their own interests. Being in, or having been in, therapy is a big plus; I'm currently in my last year of counsellor training. I'll start a private practice at the end of this year, probably working 3 days a week.
My photos are mostly within the last year or two; the one in a dress was Feb 2020 in Thailand, where I wandered into a lake-blessing festival by accident, and they insisted I took part! The one where I'm poking my kid with a paddle was 2019 in Vancouver, where she was living at the time.

I want to meet someone who laughs at the same things; who is looking for mutual respect; who can teach me about an aspect of life that's new to me. Someone bright, reasonably well-educated, travelled; someone to share experiences, and gossip about them afterwards. Friends first; then maybe a long-term relationship? Maybe just pen-pals? Definitely pen-pals if you're more than, say, a 40-minute drive away...
