About him
Friends would say I’m quiet with a good sense of humour and the absurd. I prefer small groups rather than crowds, where one can have proper conversations. I trained as a research chemist but segeued into government service. The principal legacy of degrees in chemistry is that I’m a fair cook. I have always been a big reader. I’m not a musician but I got hooked on classical music in my teens and most of the popular scene passed me by. In my youth I covered every inch of Dartmoor. Later I was a keen cyclist. More sedentary now (good for reading and listening to music) but still up for a breath of fresh air.

I would like to meet somebody who is interested in what goes on in the world, who doesn’t feel pressured any more to attain new goals, is tolerant of procrastination and will put off things in order to finish that book. Somebody who takes pleasure in the things around them, such as the changes of the seasons, and will pause to enjoy them.
