I like to use age for experience/knowledge to benefit others & for the community. But I haven't fully grown up yet, so I haven't invested in a pipe, slippers & woolly cardigans. Better busy than bored; trouble is that reduces time & energy! I feel such websites create a misleading or poorly grasped perception of reality sometimes. But LIFE IS FOR LIVING and whilst I dont want to be "mutton dressed as lamb" or look for it I cant find any attraction in people that want to dress and look like the care home is the next destination. I love a suit ..formally or casually, not drab old casuals. Life is always special. Dress for it!
I live in a house and fairly big garden ...that needs attention, time....lots, and I neglect it. I plan to knock it down/redevelop or move! I love Rugby, then Le Mans/motor sport, cricket, cycling, swimming & canoeing in the summer & more. Food/wine feature strongly, . I'm actually a Masterchef "qualifier" & regional runner up, under the old rules, but I love a day in the National Trust with architecture, wild countryside/nature or just a good cream tea in a charming village! I do love history & British traditions. I am also a massive Royalist, loyal patriot and avid supporter of democracy. As a child of the 60s & grew into the 70s music was important to me & meant I grew into the 80s: an era of Simple Minds & Deacon Blue, but I love Mumford & Sons, Adele & Snow Patrol too & much more. I enjoy erudite conversation. I have a good but busy life. I even have a chauffeur sometimes and a choice of cars but I tend to prefer my old sports coupe convertible on first dates or maybe the Jaguar. But does it matter about cars, investments or the colour of eyes or our star signs? But it would be great if you share my wish to fill a trolley in a French hypermarket with cheese, wine, fruit, smoked sausages, garlic, wild mushrooms & a 10 year old smoked oak barrel aged cognac, plus enjoy a zest for adventure/fun.

I hate being prescriptive and searching for a stereotype that fits certain criteria....character, values and conversation are much more important with some tolerance and respect. I am sure in some things we may all be fixed and in some flexible. So I could say my ideal match would share the wish to jump off a mountain in a paraglider or do an eskimo roll in the white waters of the Ardeche or just say lets do dinner...and talk! But I simply couldn't do it with a smoker, unless they really were giving up and were really wanting to give up and were really trying..emphasis on REALLY....not pretending...there you are in between courses and a really good bottle of wine, flowing in conversation.....and then ......"I must go out for a smoke" ....!!!
So my ideal match could be a variety of tick boxes, but they would probably be quite busy or active, in some way or another, be erudite/articulate in speech and expression and most likely to be able to hold a good conversation or maybe a challenging and constructive argument. And they would like some fun and adventure occasionally as well as a bit of culture, history, natural wildlife or geography/travel. So lets talk or meet.
