About him
I am a lover of life, in possession of an irrepressible 'joie de vivre'! I want and need to learn something new each day.
I was a primary school teacher for most of my career and enjoyed motivating and inspiring young children. Now I can, hopefully, encourage my grandchildren to develop a love of learning.
I am loving and caring, sensitive and trustworthy.
The welfare of my children is paramount. I have five amazing children. Although they are all grown up with their own lives and families I believe, as a parent, that it is good to continue to care for the inner child (which is probably in all of us?)
I enjoy walking (nearing completion of the London Loop), cycling and playing table tennis.
I enjoy reading (I have a good collection) - definitely a bibliophile! A room without books is like a body without a soul!
I love poetry and have recently started to write my own verse.
I also love the arts - the V&A being one of my favourite places to visit.
I am a member of the National Trust
I have a passion for history and curent affairs and am interested in the stories behind old buildings.
I enjoy making things from wood - my most ambitious project to date is a carved rocking horse. I have also recently completed a little 'cottage' (sometimes called a shed!) made from pallets and recycled wood on my allotment.
I am fascinated by the world of nature and have created a pond and a flower garden in my beloved allotment.
I am also a dog lover - they are such good and faithful friends!
I have been called a lovely guy!
