Though good-natured and with a good sense of humour, I enjoy a tinge of melancholy. But I am never depressed, and hate that word. Nor am I ever bored: I try to write novels (I'm on my fifth), read a huge amount of fiction primarily, am a keen landscape photographer and love the open air. I am comparatively well travelled. I am not an extrovert but like lively people with interesting ideas. Nor am I a socialite, preferring small to large gatherings. My friends, I think, would say I had no "side", was open, genuine and kind. I have wonderful grandchildren. Seize the day, I say.
