About her
Gneiss (pronounced "nice") is a beautiful, high-grade metamorphic rock. I love this planet with a passion.
In a nutshell, I´m quiet, free-thinking, intelligent, adventurous and independent. Integrity and striving for quality are essentials in my life. If I were a flower, I´d be a snowdrop, both hardy and delicate, born in the January snows.
My present activities are walking (preferably in remote places), wild swimming, researching/disseminating Earth science, bird-watching and looking after animals, both pets and wild. I also enjoy reading, classical music, and visiting gardens and country pubs. Lifelong activities are horse-riding and mountain walking. I have also enjoyed extensive sailing (cross-Atlantic), which I loved most once land was out of sight.... magnificent sunsets, a star-studded sky, whales and dolphins.
I have studied literature (BA) and Earth sciences (MSc). I hope I never stop learning, nor stop taking life very seriously!
I´m happy when I´m highly active, physically and mentally. I thrive in nature and wilt in cities.
I divide my time between Bournemouth and Mallorca, and love travelling in the UK.
I am intolerant of people who recklessly trash our planet and walk rough-shod over other beings, rudeness, aggression, loud and arrogant people, greed, hedonists, and especially hunters and fishermen.
Sharing is so nice....it would be lovely to find a companion.
