About her
I am retired and would like to meet someone to enjoy spending time with and share experiences. I enjoy the usual things such as theatre, museums stately homes, cinema, TV dramas, quizzes. I like history, enjoy reading and crafts but also most genres of music, not so keen on some country music. I’m planning to start an art course in April.Not a great sports fan but can get involved in watching Wimbledon and occasionally major football matches on TV. I wouldn’t object to a partner watching or participating.
I am in choir, book club, walking group and gentle dance group. I have very good friends I see regularly and go away with occasionally on short breaks and holidays.
I don’t claim to be a great cook but I can follow a recipe and happy to experiment I eat most things but aim to eat healthily.,
Travel abroad is limited as I need assistance. I have visual impairment due to a cerebral haemorrhage 5 years ago that caused a stroke. I recovered well but peripheral vision is limited, I don’t drive but I use public transport and walk whenever I can. I don’t need mobility aids I just carry a white cane if I’m in a busy area. Prior to the stroke I had travelled to Australia twice , I have family there. I have spent most of my holidays in Europe travelling by coach or on Cruises. I visited Norway in 2019 and will be cruising to Scandinavia in June this year. I’ve been to America a few times, my son lives in Los Angeles, I was there in March last year and planning to go again in September. He previously lived in New York. I’ve also been to Hong Kong and Singapore. There are still many places in the UK I would like to visit for weekends away, City or country breaks.

I have been divorced for many years, I met someone on this site in 2019 and we were very happy together and looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together. Unfortunately he died unexpectedly in 2021. I’m now feeling ready to try again.

My ideal match would be someone who is affectionate, caring and supportive, shares some of my interests and enjoys occasionally eating out and weekend breaks and holidays or spending time together eating in and watching TV on the sofa. Also respecting each others need for personal time alone or with friends and family. Also someone who can see past my disability. I People who meet me now don’t realise I have had a stroke unless I tell them.
