About her
I'm straightforward and consideratee of other people's feelings. I'm also easy going and friendly but not overly outgoing or the life and soul of the party. I generally prefer small groups rather than large parties. I've got a good sense of humour and one of the things I miss most about living on my own is someone to talk to and laugh with. I have friends and groups to go out with, which is great, but it's not the same as having someone special to share and enjoy your life with.
I like mainly to go out and about walking in the countryside or visiting places of interest such as National Trust, exhibitions, trips to towns/cities/seaside, theatre and cinema, holidays etc. I also enjoy eating out and trying various cuisines. I'm a member of U3A doing Science & Technology and History, along with their organised day trips. The Science and Technology isn't too highbrow and I find the talks very interesting. I also belong to a social group for older singles and enjoy the events that are organised.
As a child my parents took our family camping round Europe which was a real experience, and I have also visited Iceland, Canada, New England and Spain in recent years. I've also been to Florida and Pennsylvania visiting family who live in America. I'd like to do more travelling, whether in this country or further afield, but again so much nicer if you have someone special to share it with.
About her ideal match
I don't have particular preconceptions of my 'ideal' match. Someone who is like-minded and shares some or all of my interests and activities. However I wouldn't necessarily expect them not to have their own interests and hobbies, and a balance of interests could be a good thing.
For me honesty would be very important in any potential match. Also kind, considerate with a good sense of humour.
A deal-breaker would be smoking. I'm also not keen on pets although that may not be a total deal-breaker as it depends on the pet!
