About her
I was widowed 4+ years ago and despite having a large circle of friends, I miss the company of a male friend, a place my husband always filled. I’m independent and, I like to think, capable of being alone - I can use power tools and paintbrushes and I love a sit and ride mower! - but it would be nice to have a friend to enjoy theatre trips and occasionally get dressed up and enjoy a meal out with. ‘Ladies who lunch’ are all very well but perhaps ‘gentlemen who dine’ would be good too?!
I’ve travelled and grew up abroad - in Zambia - and much prefer sunshine to snow, though I mostly holiday with my sister in the U.K. nowadays, as I have 2 cairn terriers who usually accompany me. And whilst my dogs are part of the package, I’m not averse to travelling abroad without them! I also have 2 Shetland ponies who my husband and I drove and competed in driving competitions, so am very much an outdoor, country lass.
That said, I like weekend city breaks, love live theatre in London particularly, am a NT member, prolific reader and whilst I’m generally found in jeans and a t-shirt, I love to put on a ‘posh frock’ on occasion, and am told I scrub up quite well.
The numbers say I’m in my autumn years but head is still very much in my early summer. Life is for living so best buckle up and enjoy the road trip.

My friends know me to be honest and forthright and I say it as it is. I’m loyal and supportive but I don’t suffer fools gladly. Basically - what you see is what you get!
I’d like to meet someone who is first and foremost a friend; someone to add what’s missing from my life over recent years. I love to laugh so a sense of humour is a must, and I’m the eternal optimist so I can’t cope with negativity. And whilst I’m a country girl at heart and I’m happiest in my jeans, I think I scrub up pretty well too - and I like a posh frock moment sometimes. I enjoy evenings out, live theatre, and just looking good are all important to me too. Live music, rock concerts - I’m willing to try most things. Us country folk know how to party but also are happy with our own company, so to be part of my inner circle you’d have to be quite special.
