I've had an interesting professional career and travelled widely. Spent happy times in France near Avignon where I loved to paint. Keeping active and treading a light footprint on this planet are important to me.
My career in medicine began and ended in general practice with a fascinating 13 years as a medical civil servant in the Department of Health in London . Travelling the world to promote freedom from tobacco dependence was a gateway to new friends and cultures. Since retirement I've enjoyed volunteering which has meant reading up on history, a long time since my history O level! Joining the Ramblers and regular (ish) gym visits has kept me fit . I have hoards of grandchildren not far away and one in Manhatten...just 5 years old. My large garden wears me out but keeps me in fruit and vegetables. I play in a local band and sing alto in a choir.
