About him
I am a talker, with a good/dry sense of humour. I believe I am good in company. I dislike intensely being on my own, as I am now, for the first time in my life. I am honest & have been described as honourable. I have several, varied interests, which have helped me through the initial period of loss, such as All/ Ancient History (particularly Roman), Anything Italian (including their artists, paintings & sculpture up to 1600), One football club (in the DNA since 1963) one County Cricket club, Rock & symphonic metal music, Movies from the 'golden age', Hammered coins (again, particularly Roman). I relax by reading historical books (factual & fictional), watching DVDs of favourite TV dramas/ comedies & 'suffering' streams of my football team's matches. I don't watch any other football or live sport. I'm afraid I don't have a healthy lifestyle, as I love food & wine too much for that, but I do walk around my village, for exercise, & am willing to do more, with the right person. I am passionate about Italy & West Cornwall, & would love to find someone to share my trips there. As a retired Partner in a Solicitors Practice & Advocate in the Criminal Courts, I have been speaking in public for more than 35 years, so, am not short of a word or two! My wife worked with/for me & we were together each day for over 30 years & lived together for over 18 years. We retired to the South West 7 years ago, leaving family, friends & football team, at least 250 miles away! Whilst never forgetting, I feel now is the time I must move on, & see whether the right lady is out there.
I should warn you ladies, that as a (proud) Yorkshireman, I do (apparently) have an accent!

A woman who is warm, tactile & has a nice smile. Good looking, very feminine, with nice legs in particular. Regularly wears skirts & dresses. Good sense of humour. Someone who is bright, without, necessarily having academic qualifications. Initially, I'd be looking for companionship/friendship for outings, meals, even holidays, just being together etc . Not ruling out a closer relationship/romance if the friendship develops. The only deal breaker for me would be a current smoker & extensive tattoos!
