About him
I'm just an everyday sort of man, curious, open minded, pragmatic, honest, understanding.
I can mix and get on with all types, that includes my rescue dog who's giving me a few problems.
Good upbringing and education plus six years of day release gaining ONC, HNC, and IPS Diploma.
Had a good managerial career after working my way up to head buyer and later as manager of a print and design unit in the North East.
I managed to get a very early retirement, sixteen years of which I lived in France in Poitou-Charentes , later I rented in Provence. I gained French nationality in 2012. I came back to the UK in December 2022. I also came back with a leg problem which doesn't stop me from doing most things, though long hikes and hill climbing are not really on but I can still play a bit of badminton when not trying to train my dog.
Music, I like most types and as with books I'll have sessions now and again of indulging. I can't really say that I'm fanatical about any one pastime there are so many. In France I did a lot of DIY/renovation, with one or two ( ok three or four) near disasters :-).
I would like a lady partner as I know very few people here and it would be really good to get to know and get out and enjoy life with someone special. I've managed to retain my sense of humour, I can be quite funny at times when I get to know you though there are a few areas where joking or taking the mickey just isn't on.
I'm always open to new ideas, I keep an eye on what's happening in the world. I enjoy coast and country, I do like big skies, and enjoy towns for the essentials, culture and exploring.
I haven't travelled the world but I've visited Spain, Holland, Greece, Belgium, of course France and five or six visits to various parts of Canada.

This is a hard one to answer but I suppose someone who
quickly becomes a very close friend, with whom you just "click"
on most of the important things in life along with the little things. Someone who "gets" me.
