About her
I’m friendly, bright, happy and interested in many things. Outwardly I seem composed and confident but inside there is a very soft centre.
I used to be a scientist and business owner but now seem to have morphed into an arty person. I spend a lot of my time choral singing, painting in oils, socialising, doing aqua aerobics and have found a new interest in British history. Almost every lunchtime I cook, and guests are welcome, with notice of course. I would recommend my salmon coulibiac or perhaps chicken biryani. In the evenings I relax, often watching TV, but I must admit that online videos and clips can be entertaining and make me laugh. It’s an active life but I don’t want to be an old lady sitting around in her house slippers.
In my 20s and early 30s I did a lot of independent (sometimes risky) travelling around the Mediterranean and further east. I married a Swiss and lived there for many years but returned to the UK 25 years ago, luckily with a second, very useful passport. After retirement I had several long-haul holidays but they were curtailed by COVID, and I am now happy just mooching around the UK or Europe. I really want to go to Florence to see Caravaggio’s Medusa and to Vienna to see Klimt’s garden paintings, but would enjoy your company.
My son lives in the US so I have no local grandchildren who need my time. I do have a special friend … a roaming black cat with half a tail who visits daily.
I’m independent, loyal, monogamous and calm. Not into drama and intrigue. Generally I’m a confident outgoing person but the thought of a phone call from someone on this site can unnerve me as it often feels like a job interview. Although I enjoy physical closeness, I need to take my time in getting to know you. You will soon know if I’m keen on holding hands as when we meet, the eyes will tell all.

I’m looking for someone intelligent, kind and patient. Someone with a sense of humour who has his own interests but enough time to do things together and enjoy each other’s company. I appreciate a man who can make me smile and laugh. It makes me feel comfortable and happy. My hobbies are not fixed in a schedule so I can easily adapt if I meet someone.
There’s a special attraction to tallish men with a wide experience of life, clean shaven or perhaps with a neat beard. On the other hand I have found that sometimes, after getting to know someone, these criteria just don’t matter so much.
Hopefully you live nearby and, although I drive locally, the A12 and M25 are anathema to me so for long distance I often travel by train.
Not keen on noisy pubs, football, cruises, flashy cars and showy lifestyles ….
