About him
Strong character, ex-mil semi-retired as an overseas security specialist, with medical skills. Having first hand experience of 90 countries I have witnessed the very best of humanity and the absolute worst. I am 66 going on 38, fit, confident though not arrogant, can be sensitive at times (like us all). I have no disabilities at all but have fallen off the odd cliff rock-climbing LOL. I am a traditionalist in many ways, some might say a dinosaur, I believe in and practice good manners, give praise and respect where it's due/earned, and am definitely not woke. My downside is although I have patience I do not suffer fools gladly and this is largely due to my work. I am an accomplished skier to instructor level, lead rock-climber, mountaineer, certified skipper and former yacht owner with 16,000 international miles undertaken, a certified Dive Master with 130 dives to date, a competitive squash player, cyclist in the sun, gym-goer, terrible golfer, but not a bad cook :-(
To relax I like to enjoy my motorbikes but more so over in the sun, not so much in the UK, I like to watch movies, cook, refurbish property. My outlook on life is that life is for living not merely existing. I left Britain in the late 90's seconded to the US Military and came back to the UK with one toe in the water/part-time 6 years ago however, I am disappointed and concerned with the sad decline of our once great Nation, its public services, infrastructure, and the political landscape. Fortunately, apart from owning property I am not tied to the UK and have the benefit of being able to enjoy warmer climes.

Past relationships have been centred on me rescuing those in distress, whether financial, having endured an abusive relationship, seeking protection, or simply in need of assistance, direction and a way ahead in life/career. I can be extremely loyal to the right person but would really like to meet somebody who like me is solvent/comfortable, does not have too much baggage, is not un-attractive, can dress up or down, enjoys and appreciates the arts and the finer things in life as well as the humdrum of every day life and a drink down at the local tavern. Somebody who is/can be adventurous, who is either already into outdoor recreational activities, sports and travel or who would like to be. I enjoy giving and receiving affection.
