So, here goes…
My personality is quite bubbly & engaging.
I would say I am optimistic, yet realistic, down to earth & easy to get along with.
My friends describe me as fun, strong, confident & able to stand on my own two feet.
The ones that know me well would add that I’m warm, caring, kind & can be quite shy in some situations.
As a background to why I’m here doing this; a defining moment came 4 years ago when my husband died after a long illness, during which I cared for him. It was a tough time, I stopped my career & retreated from life but I learned a lot about myself & resilience….thanks for reading that.
And now, well now I feel it’s time for me to get back out there & do all the things I enjoy; my mantra is ‘if not now, when?’
Being blessed with wonderful pals means I’m always busy & I can do anything I choose but I miss the spontaneity & fun that comes with a being part of a ‘couple’, for want of a better word.
By that I mean, deciding in the moment to book tickets for a show, the theatre, the latest exhibition, the trip…
I guess this brings me onto my interests, which are varied.
I love to travel, but hate packing (lol) & enjoy long haul & European destinations. I recently discovered the bliss of small luxury cruise ships & would like to do more of these adventures.
What else…Theatre, cinema, galleries, museums…walking in my wellies, yoga, being in nature, exploring rugged coastlines…good food, wine & conversation…
Oh, I don’t really cook very much but can get by!
I have 2 wonderful stepsons, both married to wonderful ladies & I find myself with 4 gorgeous grandchildren!! We are all close but don’t live in each others pockets, we know that we are there for each other & get on brilliantly.
I grew up in South Devon so love the seaside & I’ve been in leafy Surrey for a long time so love being near close to lots of trees & the common. But it’s great to be close enough to London to jump on the train, or head for Heathrow to jump on that aircraft…
