About her
Hello and thank you for reading my profile.
I'm a confident, ruebinesque, professional woman who has been busy with work and wider family life. I have a wonderful age-range of nephews and nieces and have thoroughly enjoyed being Aunty over the years but now I'm making more time to live life to the full and to find a life partner. I feel most comfortable in a group of like-minded, intimate friends rather than in large and noisy crowds. My favourite form of humour is gentle wit - I don't like 'bitchy' humour. I have some very good shaggy dog stories but, sadly, tend to mangle the punch lines! Obviously more practice is needed.
I love all water sports, preferably in warm waters, and would love to do some summer open water swimming, go sailing with a partner. I'm also a bit of a rock (as in geology) freak and had the marvellous opportunity of climbing the upper slopes of 3 of Europe's greatest vulcanos in summer 2011. A proven hand at bilge pumping, hull anti-fouling painting and sailing (I can navigate a yacht and a scuba tank), I scrub up well from mud-covered, paint- splattered overalls to evening wear in relatively short order! I also love singing, good theatre, good cinema, some opera and all the usual things in civilized life; family and friends, hearth and home after a stormy trip away; star-gazing on clear nights followed by gluhwein to warm frozen fingers; watching the sun rise or set from a high vantage point or the shore; caviar, chocolates, duvets and good jokes!. So if you can sing and swim (not necessarily at the same time), have a vague interest in geology/earth sciences, can remember your punch lines and don't mind me occasionally taking charge of the boat, we're on a winner. So my handsome, singing Neptune - are you out there?

My ideal match is a man who is calm, confident, emotionally intelligent, good at dialogue and listening but also able to make decisions. A man with a strong sense of self and an independent spirit who is comfortable in his own skin; capable of living his own life but realises life is better, more wonderful and rewarding when shared. Honesty and integrity must also be a high priority in his life as it is in mine. Someone with a good, dry sense of humour, zest for life with a desire to explore and continue to learn about this life and this world of ours for many years to come.
