About her
I am a widow seeking a friend with whom to share the good things in life. I have a general interest in the arts, a catholic taste in music, from some jazz through to most classics. l like watching good television,and reading - especially nordic crime novels, and eg Alastair McCall Smith and many others. I find pleasure in socialising with most people. I am a retired professional person with a university degree and have a positive, happy, kind, non-judgemental, generous-spirited personality with a good sense of humour. I have been described as a progressive person and am youthful in outlook. Friends say that I look very much younger than my age, but I couldn't possibly comment.
Following my return to this town after about three years' absence, I have recently begun leading the eighth group of my long membership of the U3A. We have fun within the group as we learn. Life is good, but, with a good friend, I feel it could be greatly enhanced. I have a son and a daughter and three grandchildren. I have a delightful little black mini schnauzer, and a cream, blue point, elegant, oriental cat....both female and, as pets, good company, but, of course, they cannot possibly compensate for a real companion.

I should like to meet a gentleman who is a university graduate, and is probably now retired, and who enjoys varied interests, some of which could perhaps be shared. It would be great if he were well-mannered, quite sociable, had a good sense of humour, an active mind and an open, tolerant attitude with kindness and understanding. I am looking for companionship/friendship, preferably lasting and maybe even just by correspondence. I wonder if it really is possible to find him.........?
It would,of course, be especially convenient for us both, should we wish to meet, if he did not live very far from here.
