About him
I'm a bit of a character in my own low-key way, some would say quirky (but in a good way) ... I'm pretty bright, positive, rarely deflated for more than a moment ... I can hold an intelligent conversation on many subjects (though none spring instantly to mind) ... and I'm sane (as the next person) ...
I'm kind and compassionate ... kind of sensual (can't bring myself to say tactile but I am - damn - said it) and a great kisser apparently (or is it allegedly?). Not entirely vanilla.
I'm a realistic optimist (or is it the other way round?). I believe in social justice and human rights (worked for Amnesty for many years) and care about the environment. I travelled overland to India in '78 ... and went for a further 8 months a few years later. I've lived and worked in Calcutta. And worked in rural Norfolk - where I rowed to work. Most of my working life has been in the third sector (hence solvent rather than filthy rich).
I make a mean cocktail ... my Pina Colada has been described as a "triumph" (by me) but my Margarita is said by some (mainly me) to be "disappointing". I am an omnivore and can cook tolerably well ... my signature dish [Ed: your what?] is treacle sponge. My top seasonal dish is Xmas pudding trifle - simply yummy (he wrote without even a hint of modesty).
I'm neither an athlete nor a couch potato. In the summer I like to spend time at my static caravan in a field with 500 sheep (er, it's the field has the livestock - not the caravan) and a view of the River Dee and Llangollen steam railway. I'm a lazy birdwatcher (definitely not a twitcher). I like buzzards and kingfishers. Oh, plus redstarts and woodpeckers.
And finally ... OK ... if anybody asks ... we can say we met in Waitrose ... right?

I would like to get to know an intelligent woman with a good sense of humour (i.e. will laugh at my jokes). Someone with opinions who can hold my interest and tell me new things ... A person who values kindness - as I do.
And on the basis of let's see what happens ... a woman who likes to hold hands, cuddle and who delights in kissing. And remember please that any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves (a quote from Mr A. Einstein of all people).
If you can cook - great (if you can't - I can) ... Someone patient and kind ... but you won't be perfect (at least I hope not). If you are a Manchester United fan (OK, I'm willing to cut you some slack if you're simply gorgeous 🙄), a Brexiteer/Reformer (no slack whatsoever under any circumstances 😎) or a rabid right-wing Tory (maybe some slack for moderates if I absolutely have to 😉) I'm sure you're lovely but we won't get along.
But this is all idle speculation ... you will be yourself and who can predict what sort of spark there might be?
