About her
Over the last 10 years or so long distance walking has become part of my life; originally as a focus and a personal goal - completing several 100k challenges, including the Isle of Wight Coast Path and the Cotswold Way has given me a completely new 'go for it' outlook. I know that if I set my mind to something then I can do it! I would like to re-visit some of those walks and cover them in a time long enough to enjoy the views and the local hostelries, ideally with great company!
The 2020 lockdown encouraged me to try running - couch potato to 5k turned into 25k with a couple of personal goals ticked off including completing the Virtual Cardiff Half Marathon with my daughter the day before my 60th birthday - I'm still enjoying running with several half marathons in the calendar for 2024.
I enjoy travelling and exploring new countries and cultures, it doesn't have to be hot and sunny, just interesting, there are many more corners of Morocco that I'd like to see - the people are so warm, friendly and welcoming; the history is mind-blowing and the scenery absolutely breathtaking! I invested in an elderly, but lovely campervan a couple of years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed snatching some impromptu breaks away since then.There are lots of areas of the UK that I would love to explore........maybe set myself a target of finding a local cheese in every county once I've retired!
Having said all that I'm just as contented pottering at home, garden, kitchen or walking the dogs!
I have grown up children and 2 gorgeous grandchildren, who touch base with home every now and then, but now is time for me to do my own thing and get on with my life.
I'm a young 64 year old, who leads a busy and active life. I am about to retire from a challenging job that I really enjoy, and am hoping to meet somebody in a similar position with a similar outlook on life, to carry on being busy and active with as it's much more fun to share things with somebody special!
