Shouldn’t be this hard to find someone should it but it is isn’t it!
Happy in my own company but two's better.
Like to think I am witty, kind ,amenable, easy going,honest,
A dry and self deprecating style of humor. Can occasionally be a little caustic and sometimes even snobbish - although I prefer to think I just have good taste!
Generally left wing but with the odd rabid right wing pulse flowing through my veins. Remainer but accept the fact we lost the vote!
Serious in some ways yet quite flippant in others. Recently retired from the NHS.
So what do I like - love music, always listening to it but unfortunately have the dancing ability of an arthritic Dalek. Usually have Radio 6 Music, Radio 4 and 4 Extra on. TV - films mainly and documentaries . Alas the joys of Love Island or anything with Simon Cowell in it are not for me.
Books - always have a book on the go . Like eating out, long walks with the reward of a pub later.
Love live gigs (both music and comedy) and must admit I am getting rather fed up of going by myself. Nothing like seeing something great, or indeed absolutely awful, and then being able to talk about it afterwards.
Like a decent helping of culture, theatre, museum, art gallery, architecture etc, trip down to London to walk the Embankment. Keen interest in politics. Happy to try most things, done caving, abseiling, kayaking but just as happy on the sofa.
Holidays - Love the Peak District (is there a quainter name than 'Water Cum Jolly'?), North Norfolks' big blue skies, Scotland, Austria, New York. Switzerland. The Hurtigruten in Norway.
About his ideal match
Looks are not the be all and end all but there is no doubting there has got to be that physical attraction and that all elusive 'chemistry'.
Obviously some shared interests would be good but then I don't want to live in your pocket nor you mine. Although I don't have children I rather expect it likely that you have.
I don't want to be too prescriptive in defining my ideal match , partly because I don't know what my ideal match is until I meet her .
I know I’m 66 but still feel younger than that and would like my prospective partner to feel the same.
I'd like someone who still wanted to hold hands on walks, liked to cuddle up on the sofa and watch a film or go out for a music or comedy gig. To be my best friend.
1st date - how does a romantic picnic in the park sound with strawberries and champagne sound? Me neither, bit pompous and you could be stuck with me for hours. How about a quick drink in a pub or a tea shop and take it from there?
I'm not one for endless texts and mails before meeting as I think it is only by meeting that you quickly find out if you are compatible.
