Years rush by, too fast, but for me, it is never too late to make a new start, meet a special lady, begin a new friendship, and see how it goes. So reach out, I'm there, waiting to be your 365/247 friend for life.

All portrait photos were taken in Summer 2024. But, why not look beyond my photos to see a man who thinks and acts young, is fit, kind, caring, and -- romantic.
My garden, as shown in two photos, is quite large, and seems even larger when everything, especially the weeds, starts growing. Hence, I'm an active gardener, albeit one constantly tempted by the reclining chair under my quince tree surrounded by azaleas, rhododendrons, magnolias &etc.
As a retired university professor, I still write and publish. My latest book was published in 2024, and another has just gone off to the publisher. Both are academic research, not fiction, and have been researched and written over several years. Also, I still lecture/give talks, and do occasional media work, such as in the past for BBC TV's 'Newsnight' and 'Flog It' (interviewed by Paul Martin). In Summer 2024, I worked for a French film company making a tv documentary - this is based in part upon my 2016 book about H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds - for the European Arte Channel targeting France and Germany. This documentary is finished and due to be broadcast soon. But, rest assured (says he modestly), I'm no boring academic!

I'm hoping to meet a charming young lady who shares my love of family, is fun to be with whatever we're doing, like walking, eating out, visiting National Trust houses & gardens or nearby RHS Wisley, theatres &etc., and is great company when we are just together doing nothing.
