About him
I have been divorced for many years but have decided that life can be pretty empty without a special companion. Not looking for puppy love but someone to share special times with. I love anything connected with the great outdoors including gardening, walking in the hills and mountains, bird watching, fishing, photography and painting. I have terrier called Toby who I rescued last year. He is tremendous company and his enthusiasm for everything helps to keep me young(ish) and active. Like me, Toby still enjoys a fuss and a good run in the countryside.
I have two married children and three grandchildren. They are all very special to me but we don't live in each others pockets.
I like to think that I am fairly intelligent, having held a very senior position in local government until my retirement, but don't take life too seriously. I enjoy the occasional drink in my local, evenings in with a nice log fire and a good chat about pretty much anything. I am active in my local community both on the parish council and am dram group (strictly backstage!)
About his ideal match
My ideal companion would need to enjoy outdoor activities, preferably doing as well as looking, be friendly and outgoing, moderately attractive and intelligent but not so much as to make me feel too frumpy or stupid! Age is not an issue. Sorry, but I am not a dancer. I am an affectionate person, loyal and trustworthy and would look for similar attributes in a partner. Basically, nothing beats sharing experiences from shopping to holidays and a nice cuddle is very much part of that.
