About her
My interests are quite varied, including lots of music. I teach piano, play clarinet in a concert band and am involved in lots of musical groups and activities. But I also enjoy reading, gardening, travelling when I can. My ideal evening might be to cook dinner for friends and enjoy good conversation around the table. Equally, I'm happy to spend time on my own. I love the sea, I'm always happiest near the water. Perhaps I was a seal, a selkie as they say in Shetland, or a mermaid in a previous life? I lived on a remote island for many years. But now I love living near enough to the city to go to concerts and the theatre. Aren't we all full of contradictions? I don't like unfairness or injustice, and I take an interest in what goes on in the world although I often like to escape it too. I can happily listen to live music of all sorts, from classical to singer songwriters or jazz. My outlook on life is positive and hopeful. In the past few years I've achieved some long-held dreams. My next one is to be able to retire and concentrate on teaching piano and growing irises! I've been on my own for a while now but I still hope to meet someone to share the ups (and maybe inevitable downs) of life. At the moment I am near Glasgow, between the city and the hills. Originally from England, I've been in Scotland for a good few years now but who knows what the future holds ....I have lived in France, Winchester, Sussex, Warwick, Shetland (!) and I have family in many places.

My ideal match would be .....well I don't have many preconceptions. Kindness is important, mutual caring and sharing interests is good. Different interests, liking your own company and your own space is important ...but at the same time being special to each other, a companion in life and love. I'm a musician, but you don't have to be although you might have to put up with me playing! I think what's inside is more important than looks, although I guess we all have our own preferences that's just for first impressions. I don't have many deal-breakers but I shy away from confrontation or anger, although I can of course do a good grumpy old woman impression when justified! And very right-wing political views probably mean we'd argue too much. But who knows, sometimes opposites attract :)
