About him
I was born in Northumberland, but while at school moved to London, where I have lived since then. I am a traditionalist Anglican from Pimlico, on the edge of retirement, living in London, doing full time voluntary work in London for the Church of England. Enjoy Cantoring in church, and chanting Morning and Evening Services every day at home.
Although this gives my life meaning, I have time to spread my wings and to enjoy life. I live in central London where there is much to explore and do, and visiting family in the North of England. Ecumenical pilgrimages in Egypt, also Armenia and Syria. Speaking at an international Christian Conference in Tbilisi in Georgia at the invitation of the Patriarchate.
A friend describes me as a person who gives. I spent many years looking out for my mother and elderly half sister and now planning retirement and looking for new ideas. People tell me I am charming, with a dry sense of humour. Educated at Marlborough and Clare Cambridge. I'm a committed traditional Christian for whom faithfulness, family and commitment is important. For me my faith means daily Gregorian chant, and visits to Alton Abbey (Anglican Benedictine) near Winchester. I enjoy outings in the country, especially with good food, visits to Cambridge University Library, and travel.
I'm a social member of a major golf club in Wimbledon and can hold a good conversation. I give talks from time to time on the Early Church, and enjoy good music and annual visits to Glyndebourne for the superb music, antiques in the Organ Room and gardens.
About his ideal match
I am looking for a friendly face for a bite to eat, or a coffee, and the opportunity to have mutually interesting discussions, but open to other possibilities. I would prefer those conversations not to be about pets, golf, horses or bridge but other than that I'm open to learning about you and your interests. I hope to find someone who values family and has strong Church connections, preferably traditional and who is gentle, genuine and kind.
