About her
I’m content and happy with a life which includes walking, gardening, Book Club, National Trust, U3A, English Heritage, cinema, theatre, yoga, needlework, and DIY. Radio 4, podcasts and TV documentaries mean I have probably learnt more in my 60s, than in my entire life before - and I'm just loving it. Earlier this year I joined Rock Choir - love it!! My days are full, but I also value, and need, time alone to re-charge my batteries.
There has to be fun too and I enjoy days out on my own/with friends and family, in town/country. In 2019 I had a week in Norfolk, a 2 weeks in Egypt [on the bucket list for many years] and am often enjoy living simply in a caravan on a friend's farm in Herts. I love a day out on the train - alone or in company and in 2019 have been to Baldock and Bristol. I plan to go to York later in the year, hopefully travelling First Class [also on the bucket list]. The freedom and stress from driving is great. Nevertheless, I enjoy driving - my dad taught me when I was 12! A friend and I are currently walking The Hertfordshire Way, in many many sections, as it is 196 miles in total!
I often stay in Airbnb accommodation, and am also an Airbnb host, which I really enjoy.
I rarely eat meat because I don't like it, but often eat fish; it doesn't worry me if you eat meat. I love being at home, but have a wide circle of friends. I've never travelled much, but am keen to start!
My sporting interest is tennis. I used to play, but now just watch, and I've been to Wimbledon many times. I like to keep my mind and body fit and healthy which includes regular yoga and walking. And I MUST get back to swimming.
I don't have pets, but enjoy walks with friends and their dogs, and very fortunately many of my friends have dogs.
I am loving this stage of my life and if you do too maybe we could give it a go together :-)
About her ideal match
Would love someone to share life with. I'm hoping for fun and new adventures together, but also mutual support when the going gets difficult.
Being comfortable as a taller female, and with a dad and son well over 6', two granddaughters heading that way, tall is the norm for me, so you will also be tall.
Over the last few years, since giving up fill-time work, I've now discovered, and keep on discovering, that there is just sooooo much to do and see out there! Maybe we can do and see it together.
