About her
I’m kind, thoughtful, interested in others, and looking for someone to share interests with. I like people to be truthful, albeit politely so, and to treat others with consideration. I enjoy walking, and particularly like to walk in places like the Peak District, Brecon, the Lake District, and any coastal paths. I did learn to navigate the old fashioned way with compass and map, though I often find it more relaxing to follow a coastal path where I can keep the sea on my left or right! Austria is my favourite holiday destination, skiing in the winter and walking in the summer, though there hasn’t been much opportunity to visit this year!
I also try to swim a few times a week. Work keeps me busy as a Chemistry and Science teacher, and I do lots of extra curricular activities like cooking, gardening (though I don’t much like creepy crawlies!) and sewing. I like cooking and baking, though an expanding waistline is curbing my enthusiasm!
I love dogs, especially retrievers, labs and spaniels, though I will probably never have one of my own as I work pretty long hours. I also enjoy music, making a new playlist each month during lockdown to try to explore new musicians.
I have three grown up children, ranging from 23 to 29 in age.
I’m no good on a bike, despite having reasonable balance for skiing, I can’t run for toffee, I love reading books (much appreciate Kindle, as I’ve long since run out of bookshelf space) and I enjoy watching ‘happy ending’ films, despite being cynical on occasion!
About her ideal match
Someone who listens and talks, who will share their feelings. Reasonably active and enjoys long walks in the countryside, without being an obsessive keep-fit person. I’d hope that they like some of the things I like, though I think being able to do things separately can also be very healthy, so I’m not hoping for a perfect’ match. I’m looking for someone who is intelligent, thinks before they speak, is sensitive to the feelings of others and who has enough common sense to make up their own mind about stuff they read or hear in the news.
