About her
I believe I am a resilient, calm, practical person who can be good company, interesting and funny. I enjoy intelligent conversation and am curious about people, places and life in general.
Home is a comfortable cottage in a pretty village, where I can enjoy walking the surrounding footpaths. I am mother of two children, with five grandchildren. A daughter in Ireland and a son in North Yorkshire.
I have unfortunately been widowed twice, most recently 5 years ago. Although I am capable and independent, many of life’s pleasures are enriched by sharing them, hence my presence on this site.
I have enjoyed my career as a Health Care Professional, and was head of my department, a post I semi-retired from some years ago to go part-time. I retired in August finally and have now moved to be closer to my son's family. As I look towards that new freedom, I hope to share it with someone who enjoys similar interests to myself, and perhaps new ones.
I enjoy cooking particularly to share with friends. I am an avid reader of a wide variety of genres. I listen to a range of music, including jazz, classical and some modern. I am creative and interested in the arts. I enjoy gardening and being outdoors, walking and swimming I love, cycling i enjoy but not on busy roads! I completed an "incompetent crewe" sailing course some years ago and am happy on the water.
Walking and exploring beautiful places are good for my soul: sharing these pleasures with a like- minded person would be my ideal. When we can resume more normal lives finding a considerate travelling and life companion could be wonderful.
