About her
I am probably slightly eccentric, enjoy living quite simply and gently on the earth. Into slow travel adventures,....was in Venice for 10 days in December the last several years and it was so wonderful Im going back next December, and most years I spend a week down in Porthcurno in Cornwall.
I like to be involved in new things, but also am quite home-based, with dogs and cats and hens, and a semi wild garden, and my daughter and her family living in the nearest town.
I am from the SW of England although I have lived in Ireland for 30 years - and I have friends and family in Devon and Hampshire and London, and come to the UK regularly.
I am involved in groups with a focus on Universal spirituality,
I prefer reading to being online, phoning someone on my landline to zoom or facetime.
I sometimes write creative non fiction and poetry, and would be incredibly proud of myself if I ever get a memoir written!
I like silence but also love to dance to old seventies music on occasion. I was listening to Derek and the Dominoes Layla in the car today, but often like lyric fm or a booktape, I like old houses, old furniture, anything old. I like back doors flung open to let in the sun, and fires to sit by, and hot baths, and lapsang souchong tea for breakfast on long leisurely mornings.
At the moment I am reading Cynthia Bourgeault s new book The Eye of the Heart, and listening to one of Donna Leon's wonderful crime novels set in Venice. Just finished Paul Kingsnorth's amazing novel Alexandria. Love watching films - mostly thoughtful drama or romance - and confess Love Actually is a favourite, and Dr Schivago not far behind!
