About her
Friendly, funny and sometimes wise (apparently) I am recently single again. Also, according to my son I am rubbish at relationships but not good at giving up either. So it's a gamble but then there are no certainties- only the exploration and the experience.
Interests come and go but I am a life long gardener and cook - I cook out on my allotment when possible, write recipes and cook for friends. I like to read a lot and enjoy tv drama but also like live music- classical/ early stuff mostly. I occasionally write poetry and this year I am going back to my choir and thinking about pottery classes. Thanks to a previous datee on this site I have become hooked on listening to a very eclectic range of music - Fok, Kepa Junkera, Vuodet, Rufus Wainwright, Danish String Quartet, early Zappa.....
Since I retired from one role earlier this year I have found more effort needed to get out there- this week it's choir practice, storytelling in Newhaven and a political group challenging the current limitations on our freedom.
I have always walked/cycled but less so since the onset of osteoarthritis BUT on a good day I still manage 5k and am being lined up for the big hip op! Terrifying but a reality check too.
I've spent many years working with people in schools, social care and at end of life ( I will continue to be an End of Life Doula as long as there is need). Serious stuff, eh? Balanced, I believe by my very silly side!
I really value a deep 1:1. Listening as much as talking. That makes for deep connection and knowing.
I do spend some time standing and staring - mostly just wondering. ( both meanings).

I'm looking for someone warm, energetic, quick to smile and comfortable within their own skin. Hidden depths would be a bonus as would a social conscience and an open ( but not woolly) mind.
Are you also a practical person who can make things? A gardener, woodworker, potter etc appeals to me as those skills take focus, care and creativity.
I'm not into sport but if you are then that's ok- we are mature enough to respect each other's interests.
I expect you have been a father- you will understand how important even adult children are and how they still come first.
Above all you are a kind human who works at being the best they can be and will enjoy and encourage my doing the same.
