A snapshot of me ...
I'd love a special 'someone' in my life, a chap to get to know, to enjoy, to have fun with.
I am practical, having come from a science/building design background. I am trying to reduce my home's reliance on fossil fuels.
I am leftish with green convictions, though I respect others' views.
Friends would say I'm fun, and have 'personality', but I'm easy-going and a sympathetic listener, perhaps over a coffee, g+t or a zinfandel.
I'm retired, but I'm still very busy volunteering in our village community. I'm well-travelled and adventurous, particularly west coast US where my younger son and family live; and wild Africa - I just love solo safari trips to remote Zambia, the best wildlife-watching I know. Therefore the photos.
I have travelled alone on major holidays since I was widowed 10 years ago - needs must. But I do enjoy city breaks with my UK grandchildren, as they discover history, culture and technology.
I would love to find that certain someone to share the fun of getting to know each other, of sharing and of discovering outings and trips that might be.
I am passionate about wildlife, and about the state of the world, both environmentally and politically. I really enjoy photography, music, messing around with art, and board games, all at a lowly level. I play badminton (also at a very lowly level) twice a week. And I love my red car 🚗 !
About her ideal match
My ideal man would be an honest moral practical chap; that's what really matters. I guess you'll be past your super-active sporting days, but a slower pace gives you more time to enjoy the finer aspects of life.
I'd prefer you to be a family man, living not too far away, so it's easy to meet for that glass of whatever.
Most of all I'd love a chap in my life as initially a friend to share the fun of outings and perhaps the odd short break, and enjoying a supper over that bottle of fine wine, maybe making plans for future adventures together.
I'm not looking to share your life; we both need a degree of space. A friend who is a chap, then let's see what happens .........
