About her
I'm a loyal and straight talking friend, I've had an interesting life. People find me interesting, I find other people interesting.
I love art, dance, other cultures, the sun, France, reading, belonging to choirs. I can't sing but a choir produces a beautiful sound even with people like me in it! I love drawing but am very lazy about it. I often go on my own to films at Hull Independent Cinema.
Hull is a quirky town, fascinating history, loads of culture, friendly people. I love it.
I enjoy eating out, as healthily as possible. Having lived and worked so much of my life in other countries I tend to prefer food from other climes eg middle eastern, thai, etc.
Am not terribly domesticated, a bit untidy but respectful of others. I can cook quite well but am not at all used to producing meals on my own or at the drop of a hat.
My career was teaching English to speakers of other languages, employees in companies. Lived and worked in France for 42.5 years, 2 years in Bangkok, 1 year in Sicily, 6 months in Barcelona, plus many trips to other countries, usually to see friends, or associated with an activity. Hate the idea of package holidays.
Towards the end of my career I trained as a coach and also a cross cultural communication trainer. I have a reputation for being late but am working on it.
Came to England and Hull from France 7 years ago with my English husband, a new part of the country for both of us Southerners. I dislike the winter here and make attempts to go sunwards.
I drove in France and had a car but here not, though maybe in the future...
In France I learnt to enjoy discussing politics but am not that interested in politics per se. I am interested in and try to understand world affairs. When on my own I often stream BBC Sounds, mainly Radio 4, through my hearing aids!
Am interested in complementary health and I avoid medication when I can.
I am pretty healthy, no major issues, normally exercise amply but currently experiencing some mobility issues.

Ideal match? Someone who is interesting and is interested in me, not stuck in the mud. Active.
I'm not that bothered about looks though I do like a man who takes care of his appearance, and holds himself well.
I've ticked most of the professions because I'm not that bothered either about what profession you have or had just so long as we have values and some things in common and are intellectually compatible.
Travelling around so much, getting married late, not having children, has meant that I've always been autonomous and independent and I'm used to going off and doing my own thing. But I get on just fine with people who have led more conventional lives than me eg have raised a family. Just so long as we have SOME things in common and you don't spend all your time watching sport on tv!
