About her
The glass is half full and I plan to enjoy what remains. There is much left to experience and do.Like many others, I now wonder how I had the time to go to work - although I enjoyed it at the time and miss the students - never thought I'd say that! I try to get out of my comfort zone as much as possible and like a challenge - I finished enough modules to acquire an Open University degree - and, slowly, am learning Spanish. A long time ago, I was a gamesmaker at the 2012 Olympics which I LOVED and wouldn't have missed for the world and for six years I volunteered at Holloway Prison till it closed, which was also strangely enjoyable! I also volunteered in a South African school - loved it and have e-volunteered during the pandemic, teaching English to schoolgirls in the High Atlas, Morocco - quite a challenge to my IT skills!. Born In Glasgow, childhood in Manchester, studied in Hull, moved to London then Dublin and back to London. Travel is my addiction which made the last couple of years hard. I have an apartment near Malaga but that's the easy trip to escape dark winter nights....or used to be. When at home and life is normal, I am on one committee- down from three!, go to aquarobics twice or more each week, try to tame the garden, get to know London better by visiting galleries and exhibitions, as well as going to the cinema and theatre. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Most of the above is a bit past tense - apart from the garden and these days I mainly try to stay sane by rationing exposure to the news and politicians on tv and in the press. By accident really, I became an Airbnb superhost and I have also used the site when travelling sometimes, so far with good to brilliant experiences both with guests and as a guest. Last but not least, I walk the dog a couple of times a day, luckily living near fields, Epping Forest and a river for Labrador swims.

WLTM someone who has had- and is having - an interesting life - maybe not too conventional. Someone who has lived enough to recognise happiness when they see it. Someone who is comfortable in their own skin, who enjoys their own company and space but wltm someone to share some of their life with. It would be great to know someone who is serious but doesn't take life too seriously. A sense of the ridiculous would help. It is unlikely that I would relate to someone who wasn't interested in current affairs - even if it was only to despair at the banal mediocrity of it all. I enjoy travelling - off the beaten track is good. I have a dog now and intend to have a dog until I am not fit to care for one - just thought I'd put that in in case someone has an allergy! - but it lives a dog's life - stays on the floor and downstairs and you need never meet it anyway!
