About her
Since becoming a widow, I am determined to make the most of the remaining time I have left.
I am a person full of contrast - i.e. when fitness allowed I loved to go ski-ing, paragliding, dancing, do a bit of gardening (I have now had new knee - so hope to get back to being more active) - then at other times I just want to sit and read or listen to music (classical, rock, pop), do a sudoku puzzle, a crossword. I like to learn how to do things so as not to rely on others - but at other times, I can be lazy and wish that someone would do that little DIY task for me! I love to have an occasion when I can dress up and attempt to be glamorous, but I often wear comfy casual clothes. I don't particularly enjoy cooking, ironing or housework - but I know I can do it if needs must. I love to travel (though not on my own) and my next must do 'before I die' project, is to go Whale-watching. I am an animal lover and have a dog. I am young-thinking for my age and mentally, I feel about 26 - having grown up a bit over the last 10 years. I am what you might call a strong-minded person and quite independent, but I do miss having someone with whom to share joyful moments, to share deep and meaningful conversations. I would like to meet someone who can cook better than I and who can make me laugh, someone who understands the meaning of compromise, but is not an emotional doormat. I could write a lot more words - but they need to be said face to face to a man who captures my interest. >
About her ideal match
I don't have a blueprint for my perfect match, but there are some things I know I would appreciate in a companion - he would like to cook on occasions, do a bit of gardening, DIY, like to dance, follow football, rugby, F1 and other sports (but not obsessively), love and care for/about animals, like to travel to inspiring and mind-expanding places, appreciate all types of music, like Sci-Fi films - and - if he didn't like some of these things, he wouldn't mind that I did and that I would spend some time doing such activities. In return, I would reciprocate. An ideal match would understand my view that all things in life require balance and therefore a certain amount of tolerance is required - but not be an emotional doormat.
I would like to spend time with someone who could make me laugh, someone who enjoys conversations about The Meaning of Life, The Universe and Everything, I would appreciate someone who is kind, thoughtful and caring - someone who doesn't suppress his feminine side - I certainly don't hide my masculine side and am regarded as a strong-minded woman - balances again!
I would like to spend time with someone who has experienced some of life's many facets but has not allowed himself to become cynical, jaded or unappreciative of the everyday beauty of life. I would like to be able to share the joys of life with someone because the joy is more than doubled when it is shared.
